Disability History Month & International Day of Disabled People 3 Dec 16.

The theme for UK Disability History Month in 2016 will focus on the language used to describe disabled people and the language disabled people use to express themselves. See UKDHM.org The theme for International Day of Disabled People is ‘Achieving 17 Goals for the Future We Want’, which draws attention to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and how these goals can create a more inclusive and equitable world for disabled people. See here.

We are currently planning an event in York to celebrate Disability History Month(22 Nov – 22 Dec) & International Day of Disabled People (3 Dec 16).  This is in partnership with York Explore, the International Service and York Human Rights City Network.  This will happen between 28th Nov and 3rd Dec. Further details will be shared soon.

We are keen to hear from anyone else who might be planning something too so that we might promote this as part of our celebrations.  If you are planning something, or know of anyone doing so please do get in touch.

Please email admin@yiln.org.uk or tweet @yiln2.
