York Safe Place Scheme, open event, 22 Sept 16, 6.30-8.30pm.

Safe Place Scheme Widgit logoA Safe Place Scheme is a voluntary scheme that provides safe and supportive places, displaying a ‘Safe Place’ logo, which are open to the general public, such as shops, libraries and customer services.

These act as ‘go to’ places should a disabled person experience difficulties. Safe Place Schemes help disabled people feel confident and safe, and enhance their independence.

We are holding an open event for people to find out more about how the scheme will work in York.
We particularly welcome people who may use the scheme, organisations /businesses who could provide a Safe Place venue and organisations who could support the Scheme.
We will present information  the development of the York Safe Place Scheme and people will be able to will to comment on the plans, resources, and to share ideas and concerns.

Thursday 22 September, 6.30-8.30pm, City of York, West Offices, George Hudson Room, West Offices, Station Rise, York YO1 6GA.
